Namaste ?

It is a year ago today that I came home from hospital after being admitted for a few days with the blood clot on my lung.

Yesterday I spent the day relaxing and unpacking from my trip to Bangalore in India, it really couldn’t have been more different!!!

I had the most amazing time in India, not only did I learn about the excellent health benefits and fun to be had from laughter yoga I made some awesome new friendships which I am sure will last forever. As if that wasn’t enough, we were fed the most delicious food. As you know I love my food and this was exceptional, all vegetarian, traditional and mouth-wateringly good. I had been warned that there was no avoiding ‘Deli Belly’ and had taken the required medicines with me but there was no need to worry, my cast iron constitution did not let me down ? I had thought that I may lose a few excess pounds while I was there but that wasn’t to be.

The retreat was a beautiful (albeit basic) place. I have to confess, when I first sat on my bed I thought there was no way I’d get any sleep. The base of the bed was just a board and the mattress had no springs or pockets, it wasn’t even foam… amazingly I slept pretty well, my body clock played a larger part in breaking my sleep than the ‘mattress’ did. The ‘two hours a day’ of broadband was not always that, frequent power cuts interrupted it but it was on enough to keep in touch with Phil and the rest of the family to ensure that they knew I was safe, well and happy ?

I will share with you some of the insights I gained from the laughter yoga in time, I was so relaxed that even having to get up at 03:00 to get to the airport for my flight home and a 45 minute delay didn’t raise my stress levels in the slightest. I have never been that chilled travelling, ever. When I think back and remember the panic attack I had in the supermarket car park when I couldn’t find Phil whilst I was having my treatment it’s like looking at a different person.

My focus is on maintaining this inner peace and making laughter yoga my newest habit by practicing it every day. Just so you know; if you are planning a visit to see us, you will be participating ?

Talk to you soon
